If I could I would give this place zero stars! So I got a coupon in the mail and decided to use it...had a really bad mani/pedi on a tuesday afternoon...basically she slapped on lotion and did not massage it in...the only plus was that the chairs felt good (but heck they are new!)..but my mani lasted a good 5 days (I reapply a good quality top coat every other day) so I was like okay I have another coupon I'll bring a friend...
BIG MISTAKE! we went as soon as they open on sat morning thinking that not too many people would be there that early and we wouldnt be rushed. Complete opposite. Agian I didnt feel a massage, and she slapped on lotion. She pretty much rushed the entire service so that she could put someone else in my chair. I brought my own nail polish color (Their selection is really bad! so as I didnt want to put up with their really bad colors I brought my own dark red color) and ended up with polish all over my skin and cuticles! Like if I wanted it to look like I did it myself I wouldnt be in here paying for it!

Anyway..my friend and I were escorted to the sitting area so our nails can air dry (note they don't have dryers!) we asked if they could clean it up a bit...so they came over and attempted to clean it up...still was not very good but I didn't want to keep pin-pointing how bad the mani and pedi was.

So when we left we felt like we got ripped off (eventhough we had a coupon it was still overpriced for the service!) and exactly 2 hours later my polish chipped, and a day later both my friend and I had chipped polish on every finger!

Be warned: Do not come here! It's really sad becuase the atmosphere really seemed like it would be a great place, but nope! I've been to almost all of the places in Livermore and so far the best is Serenity Nails & Spa next to ruby hill...a little pricy but you really get what you pay for here!!

So far this is the best place in Livermore to get a mani/pedi. I went back in Feb. and had a really awesome pedi! I was in that chair for a good hour and a half! I think they may have realized how much I needed some stress relief that day, I do remember going on a friday during the day so it was not very busy. The girls that work there are ultra nice and professional!
My mani lasted a good four days before chipping and even then it was barely noticable for another 2 days (it was dark polish too! plus I reapply a top coat every other day)

The pedi looked great for over a month!

Go here if you want a good mani/pedi and want to feel pampered!
Pricy but well worth it!! Mani and pedi here costs 38 bucks... but really that is not that bad

Blah! I went here a few times when I first moved to Livermore and was not impressed at all. The owner/ woman in charge watches all the girls like a hawk, and gives a horrible manicure! I asked her each time I went not to even bother to cut my cuticles because I knew with her they need up bleeding and peeling the next day which is awefully painful! But each time I went the next day it would be peeling and painful!

The worst experience I had there was with this woman and her sister. As I was getting a mani they were arguing in their language and the sister would start talking to me telling me that this was her sister. And of course the woman who was doing my nails pretended she was not speaking! Crazy! I am not paying to be a part of family drama!

Oh one good thing about this place is that they have the pedi mask/ clay stuff that feels really good. I would say that for pedis its a 4 star but for mani zero stars...they dont last long at all!

One plus is that they are not as expensive as other places in Livermore..but I'd rather pay an extra 5 bucks for better service!

Make reservations as they are small, and be prepared that they don't have much of a staff. But once you get your food it is so worth it! YUM! Everything we have ordered on the menu is really good. I love the yellow curry dish, the chicken is super moist!

YUMMMM!! We watched this place on Check Please Bay Area and had to go. We went for my hubbys bday lunch and it was so wonderful! Everything was great!

We had the Naked Lobster rolls, and the soup. Both were above what I could have expected from this place. And considering how much lobster you get on that roll I think its a fine value. I mean if I were to weigh it I bet its two times more lobster then we get in the "tail" of lobster at Red Lobster! The roll that they put it in is super good too!

I had a root beer, which was very yummy as well! They have it on tap, and it was totally not just A&W root beer! Good Stuff!!

Go and enjoy!

Came here for a couples massage for the hubby's bday. I had a terrific lady (Sara! She was great!!!) but the hubby did not have a good experience (he would rate it 2-3 stars) but I am writing this on Sara becuase she was awesome! I've had a lot of massages in my time, and I would say she was the best, she asked me several times how does everything feel, and while at times she was going to hard she was quick to fix and modify for me. She even told me she has a firm had so just to let her know. I felt really comfortable with her and it was a great experience. The room was quiet and peaceful and its nice to have a massage with the hubby right next to you!
His complaint was that she didn't really massage and he didnt really feel like he had a massage. She was doing a lot of the tapping movements on him (to improve circulation I guess?) and although we both asked for extra time on our backs (we had the 90min massage) he got turned over at least 20 min before I did! And it was his birthday and he really needed that massage I was just there for support for him ;) women you understand if your man is not that comfortable getting massages.
I would totally go agian, but ask for SARA SMITH!!!! really she was great!

Oh and they were able to book a couples massage within 2 day notice!!!

Great place to leave my little Monty (aka. Cairn Terrier) when I'm gone for the day so I know he's not lonely and he's having a blast! The employees are super friendly and always happy! For me, it's important that my Monty has fun at doggie day care, and that he comes home super tired! This of course, always happens at Camp Bow Wow. Also, they remember the owner when you pick your baby up, also important to me, as I don't want to worry that someone else could pick up my little guy. They say they ask for ID if they don't recoginize you, but they havent asked me yet.
Very clean, very friendly, and if you want to see where they spend the night they will take you back there and give you a quick tour. Which is good for those us who feel bad leaving our babies in a kennel all night. Trust me, they are really really large wired kennels with concrete on the floor, and a little cot that keeps them off the floor at night. You are welcome to bring anything you want if they are staying overnight...so like all the toys, his own bed, and his special food are all welcome.
I rate it 5 stars and try and take my little man there as often as I can! Only down side is they don't offer day care on the weekends...which would be nice considering when we do home improvements it's on the weekend, or if we know we'll be out all day at a party or BBQ or something...but thats the only downside.

So we were all excited to go to this place after watching it on Check Please Bay Area...and we took the family there thinking it would be terrific food. We've had good Korean BBQ before, both at a restaurant and at friends houses, so for a place to be on a tv show, we thought "heck, it's gotta be good!" Warning: don't be fooled! Nothing about out meal was good. The short ribs were ok..but nothing great, we ordered the BBQ pork...fatty and not good...and the chicken which was super dry and in super small pieces. It honestly did not taste much like BBQ.

The service was terrible as well. Our waiter took our order, and never returned until he gave us the check...not even a refill on water! Oh and don't order hot tea...it tastes like dirt water, and is served in the same plastic cup they serve water in.

Also, make sure to pace out your sides as they don't refill them. So if you want Kimchi with your meal...only have a small piece at a time. I guess you could order more of it...but do that when you order or else you won't see your waiter again.

Maybe this was just our experience, as everyone else had good things to say, but we went on a saturday around 5-6pm...I would expect a better experience then this!

Overall, this is my favorite place to get a great meal ever! I've been there at least 30 times and each time it is good. I've had just about everything on their menu and here are my favs: brussel sprouts (OMG! yummy) the artichoke appitizer is terrific, the french dip should serioulsy be on a tv show b/c its that good, the chicken, the pork chop, the halibut, and salmon. those are my favorites, but there are a lot of other choices on their menu to choose from.
I recommend this place for the atmosphere (perfect for a cozy couple night, or an upscale family night) the service which is typically spot on (with the exception of a few odd waiters I've had over time) and the food which is great...just a few times it has fallen short of what i expected but overall we come here again and again because we know what we'll get when we order it.

Also, they take reservations but you have to make them a few days in advance. and if you have to wait on a friday night (usually a good hour!) then try standing next to the kitchen, they pass out free food! I think they feel bad for us, and want us to stop drooling over the counter!

So after reading such great things and reviews about this place, and finding myself wanting a new hairstylist, I went in. I should say that the place is cute, kinda smaller then I originally thought it was gonna be, but still cute. If I were to rate the salon itself I would probably give it a 4, but we all know what makes the salon is the people who actually give you the service.

So I went to Miranda Nicole, mostly becuase of the great reviews about her, and her availability. My first impression of her was that she had a pretty rockin style, but seemed layed back at the same time. (which I like!!) I wanted something a bit edgy, but not too wild considering i'm pretty contempary... anyway.. I brought in a bunch of pictures for her to look at and compare...then off to get my hair washed.
She gives an awesome scalp massage, like I think while shes letting the conditioner soak in she was giving me a mini neck and scapl massage. totally awesome.
Then when it came to the cut it seemed like she was taking off more then i wanted, but I just told myself that she knows whats she's doing. (Mind you I am used to going to the same person, so a change in people and a change in hair was like a double whammy right?) ended up that she totally knew what she was doing, and gave me a great cut!
I came home and fixed it up to how I like it styled, and now I must say it's exactly what I was looking for!

I would totally recommend this place! And TOTALLY recommend Miranda! Really good hairstylist, and really listened to what I had to say and took my hair into consideration!!

So I had to write a review on this location because I feel like I had two extremly different experiences at the redwood city location vs. this location. We went the day after we went to redwood city becuause we had raved about it so much to our parents that we had to take them and this location was closer.

First of all the guy who was working there (on a sat only looked like one guy behind the register) seemed annoyed that we were there. Then he got our order totally wrong! We ordered two bowls of the soup in the bread bowl and he served us just the soup without the bread bowl...okay not that big of a mistake right? no big deal....then becuase we had to wait awhile for the soup to come back out (mind you we were the ONLY people in the restaurant) our lobster rolls came out maybe 3 minutes after the soup bowls...and not right! We ordered the Naked rolls and we were served the loaded rolls (or basic I guess) that has green onions and mayo in it...well the parents did not care, but I hate onions and not a fan of Mayo so I made the hubby tell him they were wrong.

The result of this mishap was that my father-in-law did not like it, and once they tried our naked rolls, they tasted the HUGE difference. Now, I have read the reviews and I am sure that if you like onions and mayo then you will like the roll, but for those who don't try the naked first to get a good taste of the quality of lobster in the rolls..the mayo hides that imo.
SO the parents won't come here agian and I was not too pleased at the service nor all the mistakes in our order. Nothing was right. I say go to the one in Redwood City..its in a better location anyhow in regards to parking. My mother-in-law has the handicap plate and we still had to walk 4 blocks to get to this place. Plus the one in Redwood City really feels like its in Maine and the service is beyond awesome!

Simply Fondue Livermore

Simply Fondue in Livermore has been opened for a few months now, and everytime we pass by, we're always curious about it. We've called many times to make reservations, and it seems that every time we call, the place is booked up until about 10pm. To get a reservation in Simply Fondue you really need to make the reservation at least a week or so in advance. They also tell you to try and keep your meal to about 2 hours, as that is all the time you have - a little strange!

So we made our Simply Fondue resevation, and it was for 7:30pm on a Friday night. We were very excited to go, and looking forward to what should be a good meal. We arrived right at 7:20, and we were surprised that downtown Livermore was so packed, and was so busy, we couldn't find a place to park! Once we parked, and walked a few blocks, we entered Simply Fondue, and were immediately sat down at our table. They took us to the very back, and we noticed that the restaurant was absolutely packed.

The waiter was very friendly, and asked us if we had eaten at Simply Fondue before. We told him no, so he explained how everything worked. We went with the couples dinner that was $44 per person. This included a salad of your choice, a cheese appetizer fondue with dippable bread and assortment of fruits and vegetables, although there were many more vegetables than fruit. It also came with 2 selections from each category, of chicken, beef, and seafood. For desert, there was a chocolate fondue of your choice with dippable items like cut up Snickers bar, cheesecake, fruit, and various little desert items.

The salad at Simply Fondue was so-so. I went with the house salad tossed in vinaigrette dressing. There was not much salad, and the lettuce seemed a little welted. I should have gone with a different salad.

We ordered the Sharp Cheddar cheese appetizer, and as mentioned it came with dippable bread and vegetables with some hint of fruit. The waiter started off with turning on the heat, and poured a base of beer into the fondue pot. He then added garlic and some seasonings. He then added shredded cheese, and melted everything together right in front of us. When he left, we proceeded to dip our food in the cheese fondue, and I must tell you, the beer flavor was so overwhelming I was about to ask the waiter to re-do it for us without the beer base, and instead a broth base. We decided just to live with it, and didn't say anything, but definately do no like the beer flavor when you are dipping fruit into cheese.

For the main course we ordered 2 dishes from each category, beef, seafood and chicken. We had the teriyaki steak, beef tenderloin, coconut prawns, tiger prawns, jamacian jerk chicken, and teriyaki chicken. Everything came in chunks on a plate, and we were supposed to cook everything ourselves in a peanut oil. Out of everything we ate, the coconut prawns were the best, and everything else was just ok... it kept reminding me how we spent $44 per person on this meal.

The dessert came, and we ordered the Reeses Peanut Butter Cup Chocolate Fondue. Sounds good right? Wrong. The chocolate was not so good, and you couldn't taste the peanut butter. The slice of cheesecake in the middle of the plate of dippable items tasted like it came out of the freezer, and was defrosing for hours. Nasty.

Overall, I will not be coming back to Simply Fondue. The concept is good, the atmosphere is fun, but the food just isn't worth $88 for two.

Transit Bay Area Classifieds is for people who ride BART, AC transit, MUNI, VTA and other bay area transit agencies in the San francisco bay area.

The site has transit related blogs, forums, local news, weather and more features.

TBAC is a classified site that's in a class of its own. We do not consider our site to be in competition with other classified sites in the bay area because we offer a classified service strictly to bay area transit riders.

As for our trademark, we have been informed that our site's logo looks somewhat like BART's logo mainly due to the color and the "ba" that BART also has. First of all, our logo designer created this logo, and there shouldn't be any confusion between the to logos.

BART has brought a court action against a woman who bought the URL "BART.biz". In the early days of the internet, there where no website naming laws on the books. Therefore anybody could buy URL name of a well known business. But now that there is naming law, the BART.biz is in fact, BART;s

BART could very have a problem with our logo. If so, BART will would have a hard time explaining why they think our logo's are alike.

As Rachael Ray would say “Yumm-o!”

This was a terrific change for downtown Livermore. Great food. And the environment is very fun and hip. The best part of the restaurant is as a picky eater you get to choose what you want in your meal. You go up to a “salad bar” style buffet and load up your bowl with lots of fresh vegetables and then choose a meat and a sauce. Then hand over the chef who grills it on this huge round grill in the heart of the restaurant. I had the sirloin with honey garlic sauce with loads of yummy veggies. You then head back to your table to find your choice of brown or white rice with some very then tortillas (almost like the Chinese mui-shu wraps). Everything was very tasty. The only down is I think the chef uses too much oil when he is cooking on the grill. You watch him as he cleans the grill he uses a spray-bottle of oil on the grill. But you get fresh food, cooked just the way you like it. There is also a pretty large bar surrounded with TV’s of new music videos. Next time I stop by there I definately want to sit outside to enjoy the great Livermore weather. Their deserts look great too; I just didn’t have room for it that day. Oh did I mention it’s all you can eat??? On Sundays they have brunch too!! I think form 9-2 and they have fruit and all you eat omelets stuff along with the usual of french toast, sausage, and fruit. Our waiter made it sound like something that should not be missed. Perhaps you will be receiving an update on the brunch If you are out in Livermore this is definately one to try!

In downtown Livermore, great location to eat and shop! Best part is the outdoor seating so you can watch the people walking by, and take in the weather (granted it’s good weather). The service is usually good, and they serve great bread with olive oil before your meal. The bread is warm and toasty on the outside yet soft and doughy on the inside. If you go, try and give yourself enough time to order the pizza, as it’s pretty good. There are a few other Italian places on that street but my favorite is Bruno’s as I think its a pretty good value for your money, and has a really great environment to relax and enjoy the food!
